| HELPING THE MANATEE: Forty students from Ludlam Elementary School donated $717.23 to Marine Life Preservation Society for the construction of a manatee hospital at Miami Seaquarium. |
Forty students from Ludlam Elementary School who are part of KidVentures, Inc., an entrepreneurial program that teaches kids to operate and run their own classroom business, have donated their business profits ($717.23) to Marine Life Preservation Society for the construction of a manatee hospital at Miami Seaquarium. In January, the students conducted market research, developed manatee greeting cards and other products and have been selling at malls, including Shops at Sunset and Dadeland.
The students awarded the check in a special ceremony at Miami Seaquarium Manatee Exhibit pool, which currently houses injured manatees. The Miami Seaquarium hosted the student's visit to the park and treated them to a special manatee interaction.
